Associate Prof Derya Iner is a lecturer and research coordinator at the Centre for Islamic Studies and Civilisation, Charles Sturt University. Derya is the chief investigator of Islamophobia in Australia Reports I-IV (2017, 2019, 2022 and 2023). She is also the Deputy Chair of the Islamophobia Register Australia (IRA). Derya’s research focuses on Islamophobia, especially women's and children’s experience with Islamophobia, Western Muslim Youth and their religious identity.
Derya completed her Ph.D. in Cultural Studies (major) and Gender Studies (minor) in Wisconsin-Madison (USA) in 2011.
