I am an interdisciplinary researcher studying the impact of economic development on the natural world. I am trying to explore how the financial sector, which indirectly drives this impact, can be leveraged to minimize it. Over the course of my research, I have developed a keen insight into development finance, sustainable finance and biodiversity impact mitigation. Previously, as a practitioner, I was in involved in sustainability training for business conglomerates.

My PhD topic investigates the biodiversity risks and safeguards of international infrastructure finance, taking China's Belt and Road Initiative as a case study. The first paper from my PhD titled 'Best-practice biodiversity safeguards for Belt and Road Initiative’s financiers' was published in Nature Sustainability.
