Director of the African Mental Health Research iInitiative, University of Zimbabwe

Dr. Dixon Chibanda (MD, MPH, PhD) is a psychiatrist working in the field of global mental health. His clinical and research work focuses on the use of lay health workers to reduce the treatment gap for mental, neurological, and substance use disorders. His research work is funded by the Canadian government through Grand Challenges Canada and the Wellcome Trust through the development of excellence and leadership in science (DELTAS) programme. He is the director of the African mental health research initiative (AMARI).
