Djoko Tjahjono Iskandar menyelesaikan pendidikan doktor dan master di Université des Sciences et Techniques du Languedoc, Montpellier, Prancis. Gelar sarjana diperoleh dari Institut Teknologi Bandung pada 1975.

Area of Interest: biodiversity, evolution, biogeography, amphibian, reptilian, ecological valuation, species indicators, small vertebrates.
