Donncha Kavanagh

Professor of Information & Organisation, University College Dublin

I am Head of the Management Information Systems subject area and a member of UCD's Centre for Innovation, Technology and Organisation. I am also Director of the PhD and MPhil Programmes in the Michael Smurfit School of Business in UCD.

I am Associate Editor of these three journals: Organization, Organization Management Journal, and the Irish Journal of Management.

Before joining UCD in May 2013, I was Senior Lecturer in Management and Dean of Commerce in University College Cork. I joined UCC in 1990, having previously worked as a project manager, project planner, systems analyst, site engineer and company director in the construction, pharmaceutical, software, engineering and gas industries. I have been employed by Jacobs International, DeAli Management Services, Project Management Ltd., Padhraic Moneley Ltd., John Sisk & Sons, and University College Cork. In 1990, I moved to UCC from my position as Senior Project Controller on Intel's FAB 10 project, which,at that time, was probably the world's most sophisticated building project.
