I am a retired clinical psychologist who practiced in BC and Alberta. I was also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and was Board Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology. Needless to say my interest was and still is human behavior. I operated my own consulting business for almost 30 years employing at times up to 40 staff, both in BC and Alberta. One of the fascinating opportunities this gave me was to watch how two related provincial governments managed identical issues.
Most of my career was spent working with children and adults with serious intellectual disabilities, autism or brain injury. My work with brain injured clients led me to provide expert testimony a number of times. Due to the specialized nature of my work I was asked to work in a wide range of communities throughout BC and Alberta. This allowed me to see the many ways local communities responded to the significant challenges my clients presented them.
For a number of years, until my retirement, I had a clinical appointment in the UBC faculty of medicine specifically related to the Neurodevelopmental Disorders Program within the department of psychiatry.
