Jeffrey M. Farber

Professor of Food Safety, University of Guelph

I worked at Health Canada for a number of years, the last 10 as Director of Microbial Food Safety. I was also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa at that time. In 2009, I won the Prime Minister's Outstanding Achievement Award for my work during the Maple Leaf listeriosis crisis. I also served as President of the largest and most well known Food Safety Organization, the International Association for Food Protection. At the University of Guelph, I am head of the Master's Program in Food Safety and Quality Assurance and Director of the Canadian Research Institute for Food Safety.
