Comparative pathologist with a long-standing interest in applying evolutionary principles to biomedical issues, notably apoptosis, genetic conflict, and host-pathogen interactions. Published several theoretical papers on each of these subjects. Special interest in understanding the seemingly harmful aspects of the acute-phase response such as fever, anorexia, and cachexia.
