Doctor Edmund Silins is a Research Fellow in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of New South Wales, National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, Sydney. His main research interest is in longitudinal cohort research which addresses psychosocial issues relevant to adolescents and young adults. Dr Silins’s most recent work has focused on the mental health and social consequences of early cannabis use. He is currently involved in an innovative and large-scale study which is integrating data from four long-running Australasian longitudinal cohorts to examine the linkages between adolescent binge drinking and later adverse outcomes.
