Dr. Karakoç specializes in Comparative Politics with a focus on comparative political economy, public opinion, and the Middle East. His new research projects examine political and mass behavior in the Middle East regarding regimes. In 2018, Oxford University Press published his new book on the trajectory of a country’s inequality after the transition to democracy. Karakoç grew up in Turkey and then came to the US to study at the Ph.D. program. He has a Ph.D. in Political Science from Penn State.
