Postdoctoral Fellow, Technical University of Munich

Dr Hobley is a research scientist at the Technische Universität München currently investigating the effects of land-management of deep soil carbon dynamics. Within the Soil³ interdisciplinry reserach project she is testing new technologies in soil analytics, including the application of VIS-NIR hyperspectroscopy to predict the vertical distribution of soil physico-chemical properties such as carbon content and texture. Dr Hobley has wide experience investigating deep soil carbon dynamics, including in-depth investigations into the drivers of soil organic carbon storage and stability in subsoils of eastern Australia. She is particularly intersted in interactions between human management, land-use and exogenic variables such as climate and texture on carbon dynamics down the whole soil profile.
