Eleonora Leopardi

Lecturer in Clinical Education, University of Newcastle

I am an Italy-trained physician, and I practiced in Italy before relocating to Australia in 2015 to conduct my PhD research in Medical Education, which I have been awarded this year. Shortly after moving to Australia, I was hired by the University of Newcastle to teach in the Joint Medical Program, and I have been a lecturer there since.
I am a researcher in Medical and Health Professional Education, with a keen interest in sociological understanding of physical and digital learning environments. Being a millennial, my research interests include new technologies, game-based learning, planetary health, equity/accessibility/inclusion/diversity, and student empowerment.

I am the current interim Lead of MERITnet - the Joint Medical Program's Medical Education Research, Innovation, and Teaching network - the scholarship of teaching and learning arm of the program.
