Dr. Ir. Elie Antoine Padonou was borne in June 13 in Benin Republic. He holds PhD on natural resources management. He is expert on land degradation and restoration, land use and land cover change analysis, forest management and conservation, green transition and women empowerment in West Africa (Benin). He is Associate Professor at the National University of Agriculture in Benin Republic. He is affiliated to the African-German Network of Excellence in Science (AGNES) and the African Academy of Sciences (AAS). He has coordinated the project ‘Solar energy and bio-technologies for women entrepreneurs in the mangroves of Ramsar Site 1017 in Benin (SEWomen)’ granted by the International Development Research Center, based in Ottawa (CRDI No. 109625-001) from 2021-2023. Up to now, he published more than 50 scientific papers in recognized high-quality journals and participated in several scientific conferences where he discussed his results with eminent experts in the fields of land degradation, ecological restoration and climate change. He has excellent communication skills and speaks fluently French and English.
