Elisabeth Gilmore

Associate Professor of Climate Change, Technology and Policy, Carleton University

My research is at the intersection of technology, society, and policy where I look at complex problems posed by climate change and other local to global environmental issues, like air pollution. My research has focused on developing scenarios for integrated assessments of climate change, evaluating human responses to environmental changes, and investigating technological and societal transformations for mitigation and adaptation to climate change. I also write about economic and risk analysis and applications in decisionmaking. My approaches integrate tools and knowledge across engineering, social and economic sciences, and public policy. Most recently, I was a lead author and drafting author of the Summary for Policymakers (SPM) for the Working Group II Contribution to the 6th Assessment Reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
