Ellen is an AHRC-funded PhD candidate in the School of Modern Languages at Newcastle University. Her current research explores queer performance and the politics of movement in contemporary Latin American music video, with particular focus on the work of artists from the Hispanophone Caribbean and Mexico. She holds a first-class BA (Hons) degree in French and Hispanic Studies from the University of Kent (2019) and a MLitt degree in Latin American Studies from Newcastle University (2020).
Ellen teaches introductory modules to Cultural Studies and the history, societies, and cultures of Latin America. She has published in Mediático (2020), Spanish and Portuguese Review (2020), and Comparative American Studies (2021).
