PhD candidate in Government, University of Essex

I study peace operations and the protection of civilians in armed conflict. My dissertation (in progress) looks at the relationship between mandate language and protective outcomes. I did my Bachelors in International Politics and Masters in International Affairs at The Penn State University (USA). From 2012-2014 I was Amnesty International USA's country specialist for the Gambia. I intend to pursue empirical studies in human rights in armed conflict--particularly as they pertain to peace operations.
