Emmanuel NJUKWE holds a PhD in agronomy with over twenty-two years in AR4D, and works for CORAF as Director of Research and Innovation, with responsibility to coordinate and foster collaboration with other sub-regional organizations, CGIAR centers, national research systems, private institutions, and governments to implement CORAF strategic plan and promote agricultural activities that will improve livelihoods and create employment opportunities. Prior to joining CORAF, Emmanuel was IITA country representative in Rwanda and in Burundi and coordinated partnerships in the African Great Lakes region with a special focus on out-scaling technologies and innovations. Emmanuel is fluent in English and French and is experienced in project design, management, and evaluation. He also promotes the development of sustainable seed systems as agricultural enterprise, and for this he was awarded certificate of excellence and recognition by the International Conference on Agricultural Biosciences, the International Society for Tropical Root Crops (ISTRC), the World Bank, and UK body- Farming & Agriculture. Emmanuel is member of the External Scientific Council of UMR-AGAP Institute. (Genetic Improvement and Adaptation of Mediterranean and Tropical Plants Institute)- CIRAD-University of Montpellier and Board member of the African Growth and Development Policy (AGRODEP) Modeling Consortium. Has written scientific papers, and supervised students.
