Lecturer in Sustainability Accounting and Finance, Nottingham Trent University

Etienne Develay is a lecturer in Sustainability Accounting and Finance at Manchester Metropolitan Business School.

He received a master’s degree program ‘Grande Ecole’ from IESEG School of Management and realised an exchange semester at the Haas Business School at the University of California, Berkeley. Etienne obtained his PhD from the Nottingham Business School, NTU. Prior to embrace an academic career, he was a financial auditor at Mazars Luxembourg.

His research interests lie at the crossroad between corporate governance and corporate social responsibility/ethics/sustainability. He is passionate by sustainable finance, ESG, socio-environmental accounting and carbon accounting.

Etienne has published in internationally excellent journals, such as the International Journal of Economics and Finance. He received the Tony Beasley award for the best article produced by a PhD student in 2020 and a research grant from the prestigious FIR-PRI initiative.
