Lecturer in Psychology, University of Leicester

Dr Eva M. Krockow studied Psychology at the University of Leicester and International Politics for a Masters at Durham University. Following three years of professional employment in the field of international development, which led her to Belgium, West Africa and Germany, she returned to academia, and completed her research towards a PhD in the psychology of decision making at the University of Leicester. In particular, she investigated human cooperation, altruism and trust in different decision situations. She now focuses on more applied decision making, mainly in the healthcare context. For example, she investigates how doctors and patients make choices about different medication and treatments (e.g. antibiotics) and how we might improve public health risk communication to ensure that people act in line with health recommendations.
