Fariborz Moshirian

Professor of Finance, Director of the Institute of Global Finance, UNSW

Dr Fariborz Moshirian is a Professor of Finance and the Director of the Institute of Global Finance in the Australian School of Business at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He was the Bertil Danielsson Professor of Finance for 2006 (the Stockholm School of Economics and Nordea Bank).

Based on the top seven leading international finance journals reported in the “Most Prolific Finance Professors 1959-2008”, he is ranked amongst the top 5 Professors of Finance in the Asia Pacific region. He is a consultant to the Asian Development Bank. He served as a columnist for the CFO Magazine of the Australian Financial Review (2008-2012). He also served as the Head of School of Banking and Finance
at UNSW for over four years.

He has joint work with a number of senior researchers from international institutions
including the BIS, the World Bank and the IMF, the Bank of England, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) and APRA on global, regional and national issues.
