Fernando Muñoz Sánchez

Profesor Titular de Universidad en el Departamento de Contabilidad y Finanzas, Universidad de Zaragoza

Fernando Muñoz Sánchez is an Associate Professor at the Accounting and Finance Department at the University of Zaragoza, where he teaches degree and master courses related to corporate finance and financial markets. He is also an associate researcher at the Institute on Employment, Digital Society and Sustainability (IEDIS) at the University of Zaragoza.
His research lines are mainly two. First, the investment collective industry, from different stakeholders’ points of view, and with a special interest in the socially responsible investment field. Thus, the main topics dealt with in the first research line encompass the comparative analyses of the financial performance and managerial abilities of conventional and socially responsible (SR) mutual funds, the behaviour of SR funds’ investors, the impact of different SR strategies on the financial performance of SR funds, societal events in the SR mutual fund industry, the decarbonization process of SR funds’ portfolios, the product differentiation strategies in the SR mutual fund industry, the impact of the governance structure on the financial and ESG (environmental, social and governance) performances of SR mutual funds, among others.
The second line of research is focused on Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) as a governance mechanism for infrastructure projects. Within this second research line, the papers performed deal with the determinants of the contractual forms of PPPs, the determinants of the PPPs’ projects performance, the factors that attract investment to PPPs’ projects, or the factors that determine the PPPs’ project duration, among others.
