Dr. Filiberto Penados is Research Director and Associate Professor of Development and Indigenous Studies at Galen University. He is a Maya scholar whose work focuses on indigenous education and development. Dr. Penados has a long history of work in and with indigenous and local communities in Belize. He is chair of the Julian Cho Society and Maya organisation in Southern Belize.
