Reader in Human Computer Interaction, Cardiff Metropolitan University

I am the programme director for Computing for Interaction and Computing with Creative Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

My research focuses on the fast-changing relations between humans and digital technologies. My research is multi-disciplinary and shows a substantial contribution to scholarship in the fields of Human Computer Interaction. In particular, my interest lies in aesthetic and ethical computing.

My current work explores the role of the aesthetic in the design and development of cyber security visualisations. I am especially interested in the ethics of the cyberspace aesthetic and how we might design for the immediate informed ‘sense’ that people need to prevent and/ or cope with harm online.
