I've written prize-winning books on storytelling in protest and politics and on radical democracy in social movements. I have a book forthcoming from University of Chicago Press on how Americans cooperate across difference, and am working on two others: one on the cultural impacts of social movements and one on the surprising limits of personal storytelling for bringing about social change.
