Francesco Saverio ROMOLO

Expert for Forensic Sciences at International Atomic Energy Agency, Università degli Studi di Bergamo

Francesco Saverio Romolo (M) is Qualified Associate Professor in Legal Medicine and Forensic Science. Since 2001 has been adjunct professor in forensic science, lecturing in several Italian and Swiss Universities. He is now researcher in the University of Bergamo, in charge of the UniBG (I) unit in the project “Real-tIme on-site forenSic tracE qualification” (RISEN, https://www.risen-h2020.eu). He is also MC Italian substitute representative in the COST action “Multi-modal Imaging of Forensic Science Evidence - tools for Forensic Science” (MULTI-FORESEE, https://multiforesee.com/).
He is professor of the courses of “Legal Medicine” and “Forensic Medicine for Medical Technologies”. He is member of the editorial boards of Forensic Chemistry (Elsevier) and Forensic Science International: Synergy (Elsevier). Since 2015 Francesco Saverio Romolo collaborates with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and he is now principal investigator of the project “Enhancing Nuclear Analytical Techniques to Meet the Needs of Forensic Science” (https://www.iaea.org/projects/crp/f11021).
He was the Head of the Gunshot Residue Analysis Laboratory and the Deputy Head of the Explosives Analysis Laboratory of the Forensic Science Service in the Criminal Police HQ of the National Police Department in Italy.
