Francesco Savoia

Adjunct Professor in economics, University of Milan

Francesco is an applied economist with a background in Economics (PhD - MSc) and Politics (BA). He holds a research fellowship at the University of Milan and is a research associate at the University of Bologna. His research interests lie in applied economics, focusing on applications to regional development issues, including economic inequalities, technological change, institutions and entrepreneurship.
He was a visiting PhD fellow at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission (Econometrics and Applied Statistics Unit). Before joining the University of Milan, he was a research fellow at the University of Bologna, the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the University of Naples Federico II. He also worked as a policy analyst at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
His current projects focus on the dynamics of economic inequality in the EU, the socio-economic consequences of financial development, and the determinants of social economy development.
Francesco also contributes to policy and research activities within the Yunus Social Business Centre and Yunus Foundation.
