Furong Li is the Director of the Centre for Sustainable Power Distribution at the Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, University of Bath, UK.

Her research sits between two major disciplines - electrical power systems and market economics, concerned with smart energy systems, smart markets, and the energy transition.

She has undertaken research and consultancies for the UK government, the energy regulator for the UK (Ofgem) and Brazil (ANEEL), NPower, Centric and all seven of the UK’s transmission and distribution licensees. She is the co-Director for EPSRC Supergen Hub for Energy Networks responsible for Markets and Regulation and the Hub’s international strategy. She was an expert on the UK Government’s Independent Electricity Standards Review Panel (2019-2020).
