Emeritus Professor of Housing and Housing Studies, RMIT University

Professor Wood is an Emeritus Professor of Housing and Urban Research, RMIT University and Professorial Fellow, BankWest Curtin Economic Centre, Curtin University . He was previously Director of the RMIT Research Centre of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) and held positions at Murdoch University, Western Australia and the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

Professor Wood’s main research interests are in public policy and urban studies, housing finance and labour economics. He has published widely and is currently on the International Editorial Advisory Board of Urban Studies and Housing Studies. Gavin Wood has consulted to a number of organisations including: the Organisation of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the New Zealand Department of Labour, the Office of Fair Trading (WA), the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and the Australian Commonwealth Government’s National Housing Strategy and Henry Tax Review.
