I hold a B.Sc (Hons, 1st class) in Developmental Biology from the University of Glasgow, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of St Andrews. Following 2 years of postdoctoral experience at Edinburgh University, I obtained back-to-back fellowships from Research into Ageing and the Alzheimer's Society before being appointed as lecturer in Neuroscience at the University of St Andrews. I became Senior Lecturer in 2018. I sit on the board of Alzheimer's Research UK (Scotland) and the Scottish Neuroscience Group.
