George Kobina vanDyck

Dean of Maritime Studies, Regional Maritime University

George is the Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies and a Senior Lecturer of Ports, Shipping and Logistics at the Regional Maritime University. As Dean, he oversees four departments, namely, Transport, Nautical Studies, Business School and the Maritime Safety and Security Centre.

George is a member of the Transport Sector Working Group and the Transport Planning Group of Ghana’s Ministry of Transport, an executive member of the Logistics and Transport Sector Skills Body (SSB) of Ghana’s Commission for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (CTVET), and a member of the Board of Directors of Greenline Logistics Ghana. As a lecturer and researcher, George's interests revolve around port development in West Africa including port efficiency, performance and competitiveness; port and maritime governance, and transitional and transformational logistics in the context of asymmetrical supply chains.

George holds an MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Cranfield University, U.K, a PhD in Transport Economics and Management from Shanghai Maritime University, China and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), Ghana.
