Senior Lecturer at Hull University Business School, University of Hull

Dr. Giles Hindle is a Senior Lecturer at Hull University Business School and an Associate Fellow at Warwick Business School. Prior posts include Assistant Professor at Warwick Business School, Director of HCS Ltd, Senior Consultant for Tribal Consulting plc and Business Consultant for Lancaster University’s Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development.

His research interests focus on the role of analytics with organisations and consulting firms. In particular, Giles is interested in strategic thinking, innovation and complex problem solving. He has expertise in Soft Systems Methodology and other problem structuring methods. He has conducted consultancy and research projects for a wide range of organisations including Network Rail, Northern Hi-Tec Ltd, Tornado Wire Ltd, the NHS Scottish Executive, the County Councils Network, Secta Health Group, the Countryside Agency, the Department for Transport, DHSSPS in N. Ireland, Business Link and many others. Giles is a member of the Operational Research Society and UK Systems Society. He chair of the Operational Research Society’s Special Interest Group in Problem Structuring Methods.
