Grace Mutung'u

Grace Mutung’u is research fellow with the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore University. She conducts research on ICT policy in Kenya and Africa, with specialisation in digital rights, governance and development. She has been involved in ICT policy development over the past 10 years and her current research focuses on digital IDs, biometrics and AI.

Grace holds a masters in arts in contemporary diplomacy from the University of Malta and a bachelor of laws from the University of Nairobi. She was a 2016/17 senior fellow on information controls at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society (Harvard University). She is a curator on Sub-Saharan Africa internet governance issues at the Geneva Internet Platform and an associate at the Kenya ICT Action Network where she carries out policy and legal analysis. She's an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
