Graeme Beardsmore

Senior Fellow in Crustal Heat Flow, The University of Melbourne

I am a Senior Fellow in the School of Geography, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Melbourne. I specialise in the measurement and modelling of temperatures within the Earth's crust, with particular application to geothermal energy. Since the early 2000s, however, I have expanded my understanding of geothermal energy for a more holistic view beyond the subsurface. Economics, engineering, energy markets, regulatory frameworks, cultural sensitivities, and many other factors all affect decisions about geothermal energy production. Therefore I tend to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
