Graham Haughton is a Professor of Urban and Environmental Planning at the University of Manchester, England. He has a BA in Economics and Geography and PhD in Economic Geography, both from the University of Hull.

He worked in the Inner Cities Directorate of the Department of Environment in the late 1980s before moving to Leeds Metropolitan University (1988-2000), the University of Hull (2000-2010), then the University of Manchester in 2010.

His research has focused on urban sustainability, planning reform, urban regeneration, community economic development, infrastructure controversies, economic strategies for cities and regions, flood risk and environmental risk mapping.
