Visiting Assistant Professor of English, Hope College

In 2023, I completed a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of Michigan, where I studied contemporary Arab and Afghan narratives of refugeehood. Before graduate school, I worked in Middle East journalism and was based in the West Bank. My translations of Palestinian literature have appeared, or are forthcoming, in Banipal, ArabLit Quarterly, and The Stinging Fly. My journalistic work has been published in USA Today, the Detroit News, and Middle East Eye, among other publications.
