Research interests
Dr Wester’s training is in political philosophy. She has a long-standing interest in the intersection of political philosophy and public policy: applying the tools of analytic philosophy to address real-world policy challenges, and using insights from practice to inform theory. The focus of her research is distributive justice and the application of theories of equality to questions concerning health, in particular in relation to health inequality and public health policy. Other central research interests include priority setting in health and social care, the capability approach, and conscientious objection in health care.
