Guido Carim Junior

Senior Lecturer in Aviation, Griffith University

Dr Guido Carim Junior is an aviation safety expert with a unique background built upon a variety of experiences, including safety investigator, human factors advisor, safety data analyst, safety ethnographer, airline pilot, manager, researcher, educator, speaker, mentor, and consultant. He is currently a senior lecturer at Griffith Aviation, Griffith University, where he leads a cohesive team of professionals responsible for the Master of Aviation Management. As a research member at the Griffith Centre for Social and Cultural Research and the Institute of Integrated and Intelligent Systems, Griffith University, he conducts research in the application of the New View into Safety Management Systems, the development of new safety management practices, the development of technological tools to enhance pilot’s decision-making capabilities and the integration of low-cost desktop simulator into the ab initio pilot training to make it more affordable. In his previous job as an Embraer 190/95 pilot and the head of the Human Factors Department at Azul Airlines, he was responsible for implementing the Line Operations Safety Audit, the Fatigue Risk Management System and for reviewing the Cockpit Resource Management program.
