Associate Professor in Human Factors, Heriot-Watt University

Dr Guy Walker is an Associate Professor in the Institute for Infrastructure and Environment at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. His research specialism is human factors engineering and his work has been featured in national newspapers, TV and radio, including an appearance on the Discovery Channel. He has been awarded the Institute for Ergonomics and Human Factors (IEHF) President’s Medal for the practical application of research and Heriot-Watt’s Graduate’s Prize for inspirational teaching. Dr Walker has a BSc Honours degree in Psychology from the University of Southampton and a PhD in Human Factors from Brunel University. He is also the author/co-author of over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and 13 books on user-centred design, transportation and system safety.
