Rich Milner taught high school English and then earned his PhD in Educational Policy and Leadership at The Ohio State University. He has studied classroom teachers' practices in middle and high school that support and optimize students' racial identity and opportunities to learn. Currently, Professor Milner is Cornelius Vanderbilt Endowed Chair of Education at Peabody College of Vanderbilt University. He has published seven books and is the editor-in-chief of the journal, Urban Education. He teaches undergraduate and graduate students preparing to become teachers.
