Associate Professor in Law, Curtin University

I hold a Bachelor of Laws, Master of Law (international human rights law) and Ph.D (VC Award), my thesis receiving the Stanner Award and published in 2012, 'Our Greatest Challenge, Aboriginal children and human rights'. My area of expertise is Indigenous human rights, race discrimination law, treaty rights, women and children's issue, criminal justice and prisoner treatment and I have published widely on these topics. My work has included establishing community legal centres for Aboriginal women and children affected by violence. I have been appointed the 2016 Senior Indigenous Fellow at the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and in 2020 was appointed a member of the UN Permanent Forum For Indigenous Issues. I am also a member of the Noongar Family Safety and Wellbeing Council.
