Harriet Harden-Davies

PhD Candidate in Oceans Law and Policy, University of Wollongong

Harriet is a PhD Candidate at the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security (ANCORS), University of Wollongong. The principal focus of Harriet’s research is addressing governance challenges of marine genetic resources in areas beyond national jurisdiction. Harriet’s research interests include: the law of the sea, areas beyond national jurisdiction, marine biodiversity conservation, marine genetic resources, access and benefit sharing and marine science and technology policy. Harriet is a lead member of the deep-sea genetic resources working group of the Deep Ocean Stewardship Initiative. She has a keen interest in science policy and has held roles at the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences and Engineering and UK Royal Society.
