Heather Hindman is Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Asian Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Her recently published book, Mediating the Global: Expatria’s Forms and Consequences in Kathmandu (Stanford University Press, 2013), explores the bureaucratic constrictures of employment policy on elite transnational laborers in Nepal, as well as their everyday perpetuation of similar forms of ‘best practices’ regulation.
