I graduated from University College London (UCL) with a first class degree in Biological Sciences in 2013. My subsequent PhD in Evolutionary Biology, also at UCL, focused on the molecular biology of a group of evolutionarily important marine worms called the Xenaceolomorpha. I worked briefly as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institut Pasteur, Paris before moving to the University of Chicago. My postdoctoral project focuses on gene regulation and cell type specification primarily in the sea anemone Nematostella vectensis.
