I study comparative politics, specializing in Britain and Japan, and teach comparative politics and political economy at Bowdoin College. I authored "Money Rules: The New Politics of Finance in Britain and Japan" (Cornell Series in International Political Economy, 2001) as well as various articles and book chapters. I am currently researching a comparative political history of the BBC and NHK, Japan's public broadcaster.
