Hilde Tubex is Associate Professor at the Law School of the University of Western Australia. Her areas of expertise are comparative criminology and penal policy, Indigenous peoples and the criminal justice system. She received a Future Fellowship from the Australian Research Council for her project: ‘Reducing imprisonment rates in Australia: International experiences, marginal populations and a focus on the over-representation of Indigenous people’. Between 2007-2011, she worked at the Department of Corrective Services in WA as Team Leader Research and Evaluation. Before migrating to Australia, worked as a researcher/lecturer at the Free University of Brussels, and as an adviser to the Belgian Minister of Justice and the Council of Europe.
