Research Student in the Statistics of Meteorological Extremes, Lancaster University

I am currently studying for a PhD in Statistics and Operations Research at Lancaster University. This forms the second part of the programme, having already completed an MRes at the STOR-i Doctoral Training Centre at Lancaster.

My project is titled 'Statistical Methodology for the Spatial Extent, Duration and Severity Aspects of Meteorological Extremes' and it is a collaboration between Jon Tawn at STOR-i and Simon Brown at the Met Office.

I use Extreme Value Theory, a statistical method that aims to draw inferences about rare events, to learn more about droughts and heatwaves.
