I am an archaeologist specializing in understanding the spread of our species from our African homeland, and the role that climate change played in this process. I conduct fieldwork in the Saharo-Arabian arid belt, particularly Saudi Arabia. I have degrees in archaeology (BA, University of Sheffield), palaeoanthropology (MSc, University of Sheffield) and archaeological science (DPhil, University of Oxford). I am currently a British Academy postdoctoral fellow at the School of Archaeology, University of Oxford, where I research and teach. I am also a Junior Research Fellow at St Peter's College.
