Ian Davies is Professor, Department of Education, University of York, Heslington, York, YO10 5DD, United Kingdom. He leads the Centre for Research on Education and Social Justice (see https://www.york.ac.uk/education/research/cresj/). He teaches undergraduates and trainee teachers and supervises research by MA and PhD students. He has extensive UK and international experience with lectures and workshops delivered in many countries. He is a visiting professor at the Hong Kong University of Education, past Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (specializing in citizenship education); past ‘expert on education for democratic citizenship’ appointed by the Council of Europe; founding and current associate editor of the journal Citizenship Teaching and Learning.
