Professor Ian McLoughlin is Chair of Management and Head of the Department of Management at Monash University. He is working with Rob Wilson (Newcastle University, UK) and colleagues from Wollongong University on a study of electronic health record policy and practice in Australia and the UK.
Prof McLoughlan is immediate past Director of the Newcastle University Business School in the UK. He has also held positions at Southampton, Kingston and Brunel Universities and visiting positions at universities in the UK, Australia and Denmark. At Newcastle he was co-founder and Director of the Centre for Social and Business Informatics. Over the past thirty years he has researched widely on various aspects of innovation, technology and organizational change projects in the UK, Europe and Australia and led or been part of major public funded research programs funded by UK and Australian research councils, UK national government and the European Commission. He has authored or co-authored numerous books, book contributions and journal articles. He is currently preparing (with Rob Wilson) a new volume for Oxford University Press on Digital Government @ Work: Technological and Organisational Change in Public Services. A further new co-authored work, Managing Complex Projects: Networks, Knowledge and Innovation will be published by Routledge in 2011.
