Ian McLoughlin is a professor in the School of Computing at the University of Kent, Medway, UK. He has worked for universities and R&D companies in China, Singapore, New Zealand and the UK and consulted widely around the world. Among his 250 published papers, academic articles and books, he is author of the Cambridge University Press title "Applied Speech and Audio Processing". Having lived for 15 years in Asia as well as in Australasia, he has a particularly strong international focus as well as a deep appreciation of Chinese language and culture.
